Kasus-Jacobi Lab

The primary focus of our lab is to develop a multi-targeted peptide drug that halts the decline in cognitive function associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). We focus on in vitro and in vivo preclinical testing of peptide candidates. Our goal is to develop a drug that inhibits both neuroinflammation and amyloid β proteinopathy for synergistic effects on neurodegeneration. This drug will be specifically designed for intranasal delivery, which is expected to provide two significant advantages over intravenous administration: first, it will enhance targeting efficiency and minimize degradation, and second, it will allow for convenient self-administration by patients.
